About the Client

Working People for Fair Energy (WPFE) was a nonprofit who “[advocated] for energy laws that [were] fair and affordable to all people, especially low-income families across America” (PACE).

About the Design

The overall design was to highlight “ideation” — the dialogue necessary for advocating energy laws that are fair and affordable. Known by its initials, it was clear that typography would play a primary role. The lightbulb is a universal symbol for energy, as well as a symbol for “thought”. Placing the symbol to the upper left of the logotype subsequently alluded to the company’s role in ideation. The colors of red and black speak to authority and action.
